Gifts of Stock and Securities
When you make an outright gift to the Museum of Vision, your contribution can be put to work immediately — either providing funding for current preservation projects or helping to sustain its treasured archives.
An outright gift may be composed of appreciated securities, stocks, and bonds. These provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to the FAAO before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, you may find that your gift will provide a twofold tax benefit, creating an income-tax deduction as well as helping avoid the capital-gains tax that would have been due on their sale. Please consult your tax advisor for more information. The DTC instructions provide the necessary information for the transfer or you can contact Joanne Neuman at 415-447-0356.
