The Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology ("FAAO") welcomes you to its website. FAAO, a public service foundation organized under 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code and incorporated in the State of California.  FAAO has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy.  The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for www.museumofvision.org and all other Foundation-affiliated web sites (collectively, "Web Site").

General Principles:

  • We only use information collected on the Web Site for Foundation purposes.
  • We deploy technology to protect the information you send us.
  • Cookies are used to keep track of information to allow a better user experience and this information is kept confidential within the Foundation.
  • We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site.

Our information gathering and dissemination practices:

The Foundation websites contain areas and forms that may require the user to give us contact information (like name and e-mail address) or demographic information (like zip code, age or income level).  We use this information to send you items you have requested or information about the Museum of Vision and its programs.  Demographic and profile data is collected at our site, sometimes through on-line surveys, so we can see who the Museum of Vision is serving and improve our services and outreach.  Our site uses cookies to keep track of any purchases, donations or requests for free information that you might make.

Foundation E-mail Privacy Policy
The Foundation will protect your e-mail address from inappropriate use.  If The Foundation determines the use of your e-mail address is of benefit to its users' access to relevant information about the history of ophthalmology, The Foundation may, with the approval of its Executive Director, provide your e-mail address to a third party for a non-profit purpose.
