Book entitled "Castle St. Angelo and The Evil Eye" by William W. Story, published by Chapman and Hall, Piccadilly: 1877. Includes black and white illustrations.

Ceramic votive-type offering painted white, blue, yellow and black. Said to depict the Eye of Osiris, the votive is used on the prow of fishing boats to ward off evil spirits and bad luck. This type of votive is widely available in Malta and comes in a variety of colors.
